As a role-playing game, Final Fantasy VIII brings players into the world of the elite military organization called SeeD. The gameplay takes place in the future, in a world not connected with previous Final Fantasy games.

The main six characters of the game can be described as the heroes of the elite military organization. They are the best and most powerful warriors in the world. Their goal is to defeat the evil sorceress known as Ultimecia.

To do so, they must go on a quest to explore the world and find the other SeeD members. They will have to face various enemies, including monsters, demons, and more.
